Inflation in France slowed to 0.9% in October

Consumer prices in France, calculated according to European Union standards, increased by 0.9% in October 2025 compared to the same period last year. The rate of inflation has slowed down compared to 1.1% in September. Analysts polled by Trading Economics on average expected inflation to remain at September's level in October. At the same time, the consensus-forecast compiled by Bloomberg assumed a slowdown in inflation to 0.9%, which was confirmed. Compared to the previous month, consumer prices increased by 0.1%, as expected. In September, this indicator decreased by 1.1%. Prices calculated by French standards increased by 1% year-on-year and 0.1% month-on-month in October. In September, these indicators were 1.2% and 1%, respectively. The cost of energy carriers decreased by 5.6% in the current month (-4.4% in September). The rate of growth of food prices slowed down from 1.7% to 1.3%, the prices of services increased by 2.4%, as well as last month. Industrial goods prices decreased by 0.5% in October (-0.4% in September).
