Armenia's withdrawal from the CSTO will hardly add security to that country. This was announced to TASS by the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, Alexei Shevtsov, within the framework of the Petersburg International Economic Conference.
"It is difficult for me to comment on the actions of the Armenian leadership. It is their personal business," said the interlocutor of the agency, referring to Nikol Pashinyan's statement that the authorities will make a decision and leave the organization when necessary.
"But I would like to say that the CSTO has proven its effectiveness, and at the moment it is the guarantor of security in the Eurasian area. Therefore, it is unlikely that Armenia's exit from that structure will increase the security of the republic itself," concluded Shevtsov.
