The Iranians should not pay for the security of the Strait of Hormuz, said Rezai, the military adviser of the supreme leader of Iran. "We want to preserve the security of the Strait of Hormuz. We want to protect the ecology of the Strait of Hormuz. We need to create an insurance mechanism to cover incidents so that ships that encounter problems have insurance to mitigate their risks. And since we provide all this, these costs cannot be paid by the people of Iran.
