A memorandum of cooperation in the field of road infrastructure was signed between Armenia and Italy

RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan, Deputy Minister Kristine Ghalechyan, Head of "Road Department" Foundation Gor Avetisyan met with representatives of the National Roads Union of Italy within the framework of their visit to the Republic of Italy. During the meeting, the management system of the Italian road network was presented, the issues of tunnel construction and operation, measures aimed at improving road safety, as well as the advanced digital management tools operating in Italy, the features of the Smart Roads system were discussed. On the spot, the minister familiarized himself with the works, advantages and features of the digital road management system operating in the Azienda Nazionale Autonoma delle Strade (ANAS) organization. ANAS manages 2,034 tunnels, 32,516 km of roads, and 18,602 bridges in Italy. Within the framework of the visit, a memorandum of cooperation in the field of road infrastructure was signed between Armenia and Italy. It was signed by Gor Avetisyan, Executive Director of the "Road Department" Foundation, and Aldo Isi, Executive Director of the Italian National Road Union (Anas). The memorandum defines cooperation between the parties in the direction of best practices for the development of transport infrastructure, road sector innovations, information exchange about new technologies, increasing road safety, as well as training of specialists from both countries, regular familiarization visits that will contribute to the improvement of road infrastructure.
