The Mother See condemns the arrest of Arshak Archbishop Khachatryan

The Mother See of Saint Etchmiadzin strongly condemns on December 4, the diplomat of the Mother See, His Grace T. Arshak Archbishop Khachatryan's arrest and detention imposed on him by the court. Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin issued a statement about this. "This action is an expression of the recently unleashed repression against the Church and the continuation of the process of political persecution against the clergy. Arresting high-ranking clerics on trumped-up charges is another manifestation of the government's anti-church politics and hate speech against clergymen. The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin demands immediate termination of Fr. Illegal persecution of Archbishop Arshak Khachatryan and the rest of the imprisoned churchmen and to restore their violated rights," the message says.
