THE VICTORY OF CORRUPT GOVERNMENT

June 28, 2026 Author: Heghine Asiryan It was surprising, the day before, when I was constantly "browsing" Facebook and opening and closing news sites, the idea and title of today's article was born. We all believed in the victory of the opposition, even the current government. Otherwise, in the middle of the night, they would not have declared victory with the faces of the obituary reader. Political corruption has existed in independent Armenia since then. But it reached abnormal proportions under the current government. In other words, the power that was established on the shoulders of the people, with the velvet revolution, supposedly with unprecedented enthusiasm of the people. And this was done primarily under the slogan of fighting corruption. And like all other slogans or promises, that one too, as it turned out, was written in the sand. And today, at this post-election stage, one can safely claim the victory of political corruption, it can be clearly said that Nikol not only wore "Serge's suit", but created his own style. Nikol Pashinyan, who promised to eradicate political corruption, directed all legislative changes against his competitors. In Nicholas Armenia, what was happening in the last year and especially during the pre-election period, was not a fight against corruption, but a triumph of corruption itself. At the forefront, naturally, were the investigative structures, especially the anti-corruption one. On which was placed the "holy" duty of arresting oppositionists by making false documents for the distribution of election bribes. Not only ordinary activists were arrested, but employees of regional opposition headquarters, along with the president. And at the end of the day they were released saying they got confused. The police and investigative mess reached the point where opposition presidents and secretaries of the regional commissions were arrested on false charges. And when journalists or human rights defenders discovered real voter bribers representing the government, absolutely no action was taken in their regard. Such a thing was not even possible to imagine in the days of the rejected formers. This is the future that awaits us after the previous day's vote. If, of course, the person clinging to the prime minister's seat manages to retain power.
