Today we are commemorating the memories of 1918. the heroic battles of May, the indomitable will shown by our people, the spirit of unity and brave struggle, thanks to which the first Republic of Armenia was declared. After a break of centuries, Armenian statehood was restored in the native land, with the vision of creating a dignified and safe life and a bright future. Today, when our people are facing new trials and after the disastrous war and the occupation of Artsakh, they are suffering the heavy consequences of disasters, the Council of May 28 once again sounds the irrefutable truth that the people can win when they are united with one goal, one aspiration and desire. Our independence is the sacred gift of our fathers to us, which we must cherish and continue to build our country and strengthen our statehood with joint efforts. On this holiday, we pray for the peace and well-being of our people around the world, the strength of our army, the security and progress of our state. Let the exploits of our forefathers inspire us to believe in our strengths, to unite around the motherland, common goals, and make joint efforts in protecting our national interests and rights. May the graces, love and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ be with us and all, today and always. every
