We are ready to help, but not to ride with you

The fruitless, unpleasant and despicable ranting of the opposition, in spite of the many vital issues knocking on the door of the state, not only does not stop, but also becomes more level-headed and deplorable day by day. A group that became "favorite" as a result of the palace coup in the camp of the second president has been able to fill the propaganda and agenda of Robert Kocharyan's team with itself for several months, pushing more weighty and prudent figures into the background. In the past, this camp with a political discourse, a good human base, a respectable bench of players now prefers to replace the promised stubborn fight against the authorities with a stinking and anti-Nikola propaganda against the Third President and the Republican, wasting the already limited resources of the opposition, diverting public attention from the most important issues, deepening the public's disillusionment with all politicians and thus, willy-nilly, knowingly or unknowingly, water pouring on Pashinyan's political calculations. This behavior has nothing to do not only with morality, but also with reason. On the one hand, the terror raging in the country, the last blow of the hammer in the geopolitical auction, another act aimed at the disintegration of national institutions, should not leave room for other agendas. On the other hand, the rearrangement of the political field, the formation of new and influential centers and the idea-fix of this camp to keep the yellow shirt of the leader of the opposition at any cost should have directed their energy and resources in the direction of increasing their own competitiveness. The fact that the visible priority of the Second President is the preservation of the capital in the political field and its smooth transfer to the heir is no longer a secret of Polishinel. However, both the anti-republican subversions legitimized by him and the rewritten internal political developments endanger the realization of these two strategic goals. If this continues, the "brain-drain" and outflow of resources from this camp to more competitive centers seems inevitable. Figuratively speaking, if in the past the ARF needed the Second President more, now that political vector is entering a reversive phase. In contrast to us, our colleagues, who obviously entered into pre-election logic, should be more worried by all this than the anti-propaganda against the Third President and the RPA carried out with inexplicable and sick fanaticism. Attempts to dictate the way of working "let's start together" instead of "working together" are unacceptable to us. It is known that a drowning person, with his irregular movements and panic, sometimes tries to take the rescued person with him. We are ready to help, but not to ride with you. The choice is yours, but we don't have much time. ARMEN ASHOTIAN Vice President of RPA

Mikael Srbazan sent a letter from the detention center

Ara Zohrabyan, the lawyer of the leader of the Diocese of Shirak, Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan, published on his Facebook page the words of Mikael Srbazan from the prison. "Glory to You, God, glory to You, Lord of all, glory to You... Thanks again to the Almighty for making me unworthy worthy to go through this road of atonement and trial, always being by my side and comforting me with the Holy Spirit. Where there is trouble, there is also the comfort of the Lord. Be encouraged because the Lord always wins. It will win now too, perhaps through unworthy servants like me. However, I think that he will not forgive the pitiful henchmen who know very well what they are doing.... All indiscriminately who have tainted themselves with injustice and prejudice await Canossa* at best. And if you get stronger again, you will lose again, because God is with us!!! Archbishop Mikael Adjapahyan 31.07.2025, the 35th day of illegal detention" Ara Zohrabyan also presented the explanation of the word Kanossa Canossa is of particular historical significance as it is noted as the site of the famous "Meeting of Canossa" in 1077. This meeting between Pope Gregory VII and the Rhine Emperor Henry IV is one of the most celebrated events in medieval history. Henry IV repented, put on a sackcloth and arrived barefoot at the gates of Canossa where the pope was. However, Pope Gregory VII refused to accept Henry. According to reports, Henry waited at the castle gates for three days, during which time he fasted and did not remove his sackcloth. In the end, the grandfather accepts him. Heinrich kneels before Grandfather Gregory and begs his forgiveness. Gregory forgives the emperor and calls him to return to the bosom of the Church.

"Keep your hands away from the church". The European Party of Armenia joined the protests

YEREVAN - July 2, 2025 Protests continue in Armenia against the arrests of Archbishops Bagrat Galstanyan and Mikael Adjapahyan, as well as other clergymen. The European Party of Armenia actively participates in the protests, whose members have stated that what is happening is a political persecution and is directed against the Armenian Apostolic Church. The protests took place both in Yerevan and in the territory of the Holy Etchmiadzin Mother See, where hundreds of citizens, believers and opposition activists gathered. They demanded the immediate release of the arrested clerics and stop the pressure on the church. In their speeches, the HEC representatives stated that the actions of the authorities endanger the freedom of speech and the religious rights of the religious people. "The church is one of the important pillars of our national identity, thanks to which the Armenian people were able to establish themselves as the first Christian nation and bring their history and culture to the 21st century, so we consider any pressure on the church as an attempt to destroy our nation," Armen Amirzadyan, a member of the European Party of Armenia, emphasized in his speech. It should be noted that Amirzadyan and his wife stood out for their active initiatives supporting the movement: financial, organizational, as well as public awareness work. According to political scientists, the created situation indicates the increase of internal political tension in Armenia, where the relations between the church and political forces continue to escalate. The human rights organizations, in turn, called for an independent and transparent investigation to find out both the legality of the arrests and the cases of the use of force during the protests. The wave of protests continues, and the development of the situation continues to remain in the public and spotlight.

Rejected Claims, International Appeal and New Prosecution

July 10, 2025 Satenik Balayan has been trying to get justice in the case of his father's death through legal means for several years. The well-known businessman Suren Balayan died in May 2022 as a result of a collision, which the family considers not a traffic accident, but an intentional murder related to his business activities, or rather, gaining control over his business. As part of the criminal case initiated after the incident, on June 28, 2024, the court sentenced the accused Sergey Mnatsakanyan to one year of probation and one year of driving license deprivation, while the law provides for 2-5 years of imprisonment for that act. This verdict caused great dissatisfaction among Balayan's family, considering the imposed punishment to be highly disproportionate. Satenik Balayan continued the fight through legal means, trying to achieve a complete and fair examination of the case. He filed an appeal through a lawyer, but in November 2024, the appeals court left the verdict of the first instance unchanged. The family continues to claim that the true circumstances were not revealed and that the case was not properly investigated. The Court of Cassation did not proceed with the case in general. "I believed that Nikol Pashinyan, who came to power with the revolution, would eliminate the previous corrupt state and judicial systems, but unfortunately, nothing has changed, only the names," notes Satenik Balayan. In March 2025, Balayan's lawyer submitted a claim to the European Court of Human Rights, trying to raise the circumstances of Suren Balayan's death on the international stage. According to Satenik, from the moment he started speaking publicly about the real circumstances of his father's death and preparing an application to the ECHR, new pressures began on him: threats to his life, as well as legal prosecution. Currently, a criminal proceeding has been initiated in the Investigative Committee, by which Satenik Balayan has been charged with perjury and spreading false information. "All these steps are aimed at silencing me and preventing me from continuing to speak about the real circumstances of my father's death, as well as about those who ordered and carried out his murder. At the core of all this was Ashot Arsenyan, who, thanks to his close ties with the authorities, is able to influence the course of this case," emphasizes the daughter of Suren Balayan, who died in a car accident 3 years ago. Satenik Balayan declares that even under pressure and not having the opportunity to return to Armenia, he will continue to achieve justice by all legal and international means, to prove that his father was killed by the corrupt authorities and criminal oligarchic elements connected with them.

There will be curses and insults, I will react in the same way. Pashinyan

Nikol Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page: "My impression from the posts of a number of users is as follows. When the latest vocabulary is used against me and my family members, my supporters, I am not the head of the country. And when I retort, I am already the head of the country, who should not allow himself such a thing. But everything can be allowed for me, my family members and associates. I understand that the head of the country has greater restrictions than the opposition. But opposition parties also have limitations. If the opposition has no restrictions, how can the head of the country protect himself, his family members and his supporters who are being targeted in the same way? Switch to illegal methods? It is impermissible and unacceptable. Shall we impose a punishment for a serious offense? We tried that too, but the noise was the same as if they were restricting the right to speech in Armenia. Go to court with civil lawsuits? The noise is the same, freedom of speech is suppressed. And besides, with whose money and how much to go to court? It's an expense, isn't it? Who will finance that cost? This is not possible with a personal, family, party budget. With the state budget, there will be the same noise. Tolerate swearing? We still understood about myself, but I can't tolerate my supporters and family members anymore. Therefore, my position is clear. There will be a sharp but regularly worded criticism, I will do the same. There will be curses and insults, I will react in the same way. There will be respect, I will respond with respect. Please don't expect anything else. Moreover, I will call all my associates and supporters to do the same. Actively act in the same way. There is no alternative. Either there will be a public consensus on this issue and we will have a no matter how sharp but civilized debate, or there will be a grass-to-grass field, maybe not one, but one in 10, even one in 20, but it will definitely happen and it will be very strong. Please don't expect anything else. I am a supporter of civilized debate. But this is a question that I do not decide, let those in the opposite political camp decide. PS: The next solution is for political society and the public themselves to demand the criminalization of grave insults. And let's form a public consensus on this. How will you decide, in short?"

Karapetyan's family has notified RA state bodies about starting an investment dispute

The Republic of Armenia has been notified of the investment dispute in connection with the actions taken against the businessman, philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan and the company "Hayastani Elektrischen Zyrets". "Tashir" group of companies issued a statement about that today. The announcement states that the notification of the investment dispute is of a warning nature. This official notification was sent by Samvel Karapetyan and his family members to the state authorities of the Republic of Armenia. It is based on the 1995 Agreement between Armenia and Cyprus. on the investment promotion and protection agreement signed on January 18. It is noted that this agreement gives investors the opportunity to apply for international arbitration in case of violation of their rights by the state. Such processes have a negative impact on the investment attractiveness of the country. In the statement published by the "Tashir" group of companies, it is mentioned that the Karapetyan family makes demands due to the Prime Minister's campaign against Samvel Karapetyan and his business. "First of all, Armenian state officials did not provide fair and equal treatment, as well as full protection and security for the Karapetyan family and their investments in Armenia. Secondly, in violation of the agreement, the RA state bodies are taking steps to establish control over HEP, which is equivalent to confiscation of investments. If the relevant bodies continue to violate their obligations under the agreement and international law, Armenia will face international arbitration proceedings and the obligation to pay full compensation as a result," the statement said. In the notice, the shareholders claim that the actions of the RA officials are arbitrary, discriminatory, politically motivated and aimed at depriving the Karapetyan family of their property through the HEC. According to the shareholders, these actions violate the 1995 a number of obligations assumed by the agreement signed between Armenia and Cyprus on January 18, which the state must fulfill.
