Experiments on rodents have shown that irregular, unpredictable activity leads to bone and cartilage damage. And on the contrary, the habit of doing physical activity at the same time contributed to the synchronization of the body's circadian rhythms with the muscular support system. Scientists note that morning exercises activate the light-sensitive centers of the brain, giving the body a signal to "wake up" and stimulating the musculoskeletal system. According to the researchers, circadian cycles are observed not only in the heart and fat cells, but also in intervertebral discs and cartilage tissues. Violation of these rhythms is associated with a high risk of diseases. The authors emphasize that maintaining a consistent exercise regimen may be particularly beneficial for older adults and those with arthritis, as consistent physical activity helps slow bone loss and reduce the risk of fractures. The researchers plan to test these results in humans in future experiments to refine recommendations for optimal exercise schedules for joint and cartilage health.
